LAMP (Lumino-Auditory Magic Performance) is a performance with an instrument that works on the basis of optical sound, or translating the changes in light intensity into sound. It consists of a custom designed lamp and two data gloves, and is performed by wearing the gloves, and bending fingers as both hands are placed in close proximity to the lamp.

LAMP resembles a magic performance; moreover, the design of the instrument makes a reference to the almost magical feeling of being exposed to the outcome of the complex machines that are constructed with sophistication beyond the consumer’s comprehension, while the consumer is only exposed to the surface of the apparatus, the interface.
